1. Know Who You're Writing For

"The consumer isn't dumb. She's your wife."

Think about who you're talking to.

Understand what they need.

Then draft a solution to their problems.

And showcase it to them.

Do your homework to make your writing a homerun.

2. Know The Product Inside Out

“Big ideas come from your back mind. But it needs to be full of info, or your ideas will miss the mark.”

Learn all you can about the product or service before you start writing.

Research is the most important part.

And this knowledge also fires up good ideas

3. The Headline is Key

“5x more folks read the headline than the body. Spend 80% of your effort here.”

Make headlines that grab attention.

Call out problems.

Or talk about the end result of a transformation a potential customer can go through.

4. Details Matter

"The more you tell, the more you sell."

People need info to make choices.

So instead of thinking: “This might be too much copy.”

Think about this instead: “What else could prevent the customer from buying?”

And solve it in your copy.

Sharing these details builds trust and breaks fears.

5. Write for One Person

Your ad might reach millions, but you're speaking to one person at a time.

Write like you're sending a personal note.

This will make potentially millions of people think you’re speaking directly to them.

6. Keep it Like a Chat

Don't use big, fancy words.

Keep it real.

Write as they speak.

Remember making research?

This is why it’s so important.

Because without it you wouldn’t know how to speak like them.

7. Go to sleep

Wait what?

Yes, you read that right.

Let your words sit for a day.

Come back and edit it again.

A fresh look not only catches more errors.

But also gives you another perspective that you may not have thought about yesterday.
